Discipline is a fundamental pillar of success in every area of life, especially in the school environment. It nurtures respect for educators, peers and the established school rules, thereby creating an atmosphere conducive to learning. Our school is committed to maintaining a robust code of conduct that encourages students to embody the values of respect, honesty, and responsibility. By adhering to these principles, we ensure a safe, disciplined and productive environment where all students can excel themselves and realize their full potential.
1. ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
Our school adheres to a Zero Tolerance Policy toward bullying. Any form of bullying, whether physical, verbal, social, or cyber, is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. We encourage all students to treat one another with kindness, respect and empathy, fostering a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Every bullying incident will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly and addressed promptly. Disciplinary actions will be taken based on the severity of the bullying incident.
2. MOBILE PHONE USE POLICY
In accordance with school regulations, students are not permitted to use mobile phones during school hours. (However, in case of emergency, they may get their mobile phones deposited with their respective coordinators along with a duly signed application by the parent/guardian.) Any misuse, including texting, calling or engaging with social media during instructional time, will result in disciplinary action. To maintain a focused and respectful learning, environment, the following measures will be enforced to curb the misuse of mobile phones:
- First Offence:
- The student will receive a verbal warning.
- The mobile phone will be confiscated and returned only to the student’s parent/guardian the next day.
- Second Offence:
- The mobile phone will be confiscated and returned only to the student’s parent or guardian after a week.
- A written apology will be submitted by the student.
- Third Offence:
- The mobile phone will be confiscated for an extended period of time.
- A meeting will be scheduled with the student’s parent/guardian in the Principal or Vice-Principal’s office.
- The student may face temporary suspension from co-curricular activities.
- Repeated Offences:
- The student may face more serious disciplinary actions, including suspension or other measures deemed appropriate.
3. BUNKING / SKIPPING CLASSES /TRUANCY
Bunking or skipping classes or missing school intentionally is a serious breach of school policy and disrupts the learning environment. To maintain a productive and respectful academic atmosphere, the following actions will be taken if a student is found skipping classes:
- First Offence:
- The student will receive a verbal warning.
- The student will be required to make up for missed work and lessons.
- Second Offence:
- The parent or guardian will be notified and a meeting with the Principal will be arranged.
- The student will submit a written apology.
- Repeated Offence:
- The student may lose privileges, such as participation in school events.
- The student may face suspension or other significant disciplinary measures, depending on the severity and frequency of the incidents.
4. USE OF ABUSIVE LANGUAGE
The use of abusive, offensive or disrespectful language is strictly prohibited in our school. Such behaviour undermines the positive environment we strive to uphold and violates the core values of respect and consideration for others. The following actions will be taken if a student is caught using inappropriate language:
First Offence:
- The student will receive a verbal warning.
- The student will be required to apologize to the affected individual(s).
Second Offence:
- The student will submit a written apology.
- A meeting will be scheduled with the student’s parent or guardian.
Third Offence:
- The student will be required to attend a counselling session addressing inappropriate language use.
- Repeated Offences:
- The student may face suspension or other significant disciplinary actions, depending on the severity and frequency of the incidents.
5. DAMAGE TO SCHOOL PROPERTY
Any damage to the school property, whether intentional or accidental, is a serious matter and will be addressed accordingly. Students are expected to treat all school facilities and materials with care. Damages may include vandalism, destruction of school books, furniture, fixtures or equipment and learning resources. The following steps will be taken in the event of damage: –
- An investigation will be conducted to assess the nature and extent of the damage.
- The student’s parents or guardians will be notified of the incident.
- A fine may be imposed to cover the repair or replacement costs as determined by the degree of damage.
